I like to think of Furman as the best, which is my opinion. One fact that I wanted to point out is that Furman continues to lead the Southern Conference in average attendance which is a huge difference from 2019. Here are the average home-game attendance numbers through October 9th.
Furman - 10,916 per game
Citadel - 10,368 per game
Mercer - 9,932 per game
W. Carolina - 9,354 per game
ETSU - 9,296 per game
Chattanooga - 8,318 per game
VMI - 5,362 per game
Wofford - 5,331 per game
Samford - 4,965 per game
Best fan support in the Southern Conference makes the games more fun
Best football game day atmosphere helps to recruit better players.
Average attendance at Paladin Stadium in 2019 was 6,039 fans per game. Our attendance is up by over 80 percent verses 2019. Keep it up. I like being the best.

Great stuff. I think 9/10 K is a good and attainable goal. Beer helps

We came up to the Mercer game and 1) the beer area in the end zone is an AWESOME addition. Very cool. And 2) the new turf looks AMAZING. We a cool game day experience.

If Coach Thompson is correct, and the corps of cadets come to Greenville, I imagine we'll keep that top spot.

Does it count if they leave before halftime?
They have to get back to Moultrie Street before 11 PM to get their milk & cookies before storytime, y’know.

I assume all these cadets are ticket-purchasing patrons just like everyone else? That's a good chunk of change at $25 a ticket...not to mention the expense of transporting and feeding the corps. I've always wondered if this comes out of their athletic budget or out of the pockets of the good citizens of South Carolina? Please tell me we aren't letting them in for free.

IIRC its been a long time since they have brought a significant amount of cadets. If they bring some Saturday night I expect it will be a small amount. Think about it. IF they just brought a thousand that would be 20 busses.

...and $25,000 worth of tickets at face value.

Anyone buying a large bloc of seats on the Visitor's side will get them for considerably less than $25 each.

With the exception of any that may have already signed ROTC contracts, those kids costumed as luggage handlers are no more in the US military than an FU Freshman CoEd deciding if Tri-Delt or Chi-O will be her 1st or 2nd choice when she rushes in January.

Interesting comparison but about 40% of FU students will join a Greek organization while about 30% of the Citadel students join the military. So more Furmans are sweating those Tri-Delt - Chi O decisions than Citadels deciding on a branch.
The Citadel can however be proud of their 100% participation rate in cosplay.
