Dick’s Sporting Goods. Nice selection in the store on Woodruff Rd. More on their website. Reasonably priced.

Apparently, the injunction that Coach Sheridan was able to get against anyone ever using this silly cartoon to represent a Furman Paladin has expired.
He is NOT going to be happy. He even mentioned this to the FFPA during his recent address before the CIT game, when he became the 1st member of the Furman Football Ring of Honor & was honored for his induction into the College Football Hall of Fame. If you want one of these, you might want to order today. FUBeAR doesn’t think they will be available for very long.

No comprende senor … but FUBeAR knows he sure wouldn’t want to be the one who tells Coach Sheridan that this cartoon is being used again…and being promoted by (Official) Furman Paladins social media.

My bad, I thought you were going to tell him. I figured those things were long gone. Apparently not!

I like the cartoon, and I’ve missed it. It goes back to the days when when we were really good in basketball. Some of the more recent stuff is sort of anime’ looking which just identifies your school as nerdy.

I like the “cartoon” too. Actually, I have a beautiful
wall plaque of that emblem. I’ve always loved it, and it brings back a lot of good memories. It’s called vintage for a reason. I will buy one or two of those t-shirts.

as a kid who idolized Roy Simpson and DJ Jackson - I loved that logo - I got pretty good free-hand drawing it on book covers, etc…
I will be buying several of these shirts.

I have a belt buckle with that caricature. I wouldn’t call these vintage shirts. Vintage indicates shirts that is exact replicas of previously issued designs. These are just shirts with old logos and Paladin designs. I’ve had Furman shirts since the late sixties. Some of these designs must date back to the downtown campus when I was three. Except for the caricature, I don’t remember any of these designs. There’s one that’s close, but the horse is up on it’s back legs. The original has the horse standing with just one of the front legs up. I still have a hat.

I don’t remember Jackson, but I started following Furman b’ball on the radio when my brother was in school. I remember Simpson, Lynch and Collier from that first year. I used to watch the Joe Williams show on Sundays. And I too drew that cartoon Paladin on my brown paper book covers.
We’ve pretty much stunk ever since we got rid of that cartoon. Way to go Sheridan.

I like the shirts. I didn’t know this about Sheridan. What’s the story?
