Just heard from Coach Clay that there was a great response to the "feed the Dins" fan program for next week and so the dinner is a go. I have done this in the past and it is a fun experience. All who signed up will be getting info from Reese Hannon later in the week.

Interesting takes from dinner last night with 6 Paladins.
-qb starter is up in the air. Both have good skills to lead the team
-CCH spends a lot of time with the OL, which is good
-Corey Watkins is super strong, one of the strongest on the team
-Coach Quarles ad libs a lot in play calling, adapts well to game situations
-Kealand Dirks reported in at 270, has lost a few since
-Wofford is the rival

Overall, very impressive young men. Glad we have them at Furman

I believe last season Quarles was in the booth. As the OC, I wonder if he'll hang out up there again.

As I noted on the other thread, Furman can use the same personnel to run just about any plays they want to. Seems a perfect set up for a guy who is willing to look at the defense and not live on a scripted play sheet. Watch what the other team is doing to you and then adapt.

I know these guys spent a lot of time in the weight room this off-season, but this sounds more like hitting the burgers and shakes a little too hard. Is Kealand's 'ideal' weight about 250?

Kealand had a lingering hamstring issue left over from spring practice and was unable to run for much of the summer. He also hit the weight room hard. He has lost 5 lbs. in the first week of practice already. I expect he will play at about 255 now that he is running again. He is a VERY big man but looks to be in great shape.
