If only there were mechanisms that could help people look stuff up.
I found this thing on my phone that does that!

-Anyway he’s 5’9”, 156.
-We beat out Ark Pine Bluff and Texas Southern to get him.
-He completed around 65% in 2019.
-He looks to me like he has a much more effortless throw and gets rid of the ball quick. That may change if we load him down with stuff to think about.
-He is elusive.

And before all the Negative Nancys show up to criticize a player they've never seen, he also played in one of the biggest and most competitive high school football divisions in the country.

There were about 4 Jace Wilsons on MaxPreps from Texas so not sure which one to cite.

Senior year playing in the highest classification in Texas at Mayde Creek HS.
9 games, 139 of 246 56.5% 1,859 yds. 9 TDS 10 INT QB rating 75.9
Call me negative Nancy if you want but his size and the fact virtually nobody else recruited him is of concern.

Furman lists him at 5’11” 172 lbs.

He was an early commit, which likely kept his offers down.

Considering that some of our best players had few or no other D1 offers, and some of our biggest busts had lots of impressive offers, you have to take all that with a grain of salt....

Besides, smallish mobile QB's seem to be doing well at lots of levels....Russell Wilson, Kyler Murray, Tua.

I have seen some clips of him, he is a talented guy who can run and throw. Again, he can do both, naturally. He plays in big time HS football in Texas.

Seems like he's has pretty good vision/awareness but hard to tell from a highlight film. But in a few of his clips he spins or jukes to avoid pressure and still finds his guy downfield. And with a nickname like "Hollywood" maybe he has that Frankie DeBusk swagger.....

Don’t be silly. If you know the Dewey Decimal System, the Card Catalogue is a virtual window to the entire world of information. Get with the times, Jackal!

Yes, I’m convincing myself that he’s really good. I think I see potential for him to make our offense much, much better even though the OL will almost certainly take a step backwards. Better for us if his stats stay average as long as he makes big plays when we need them. A few big plays is all we need with our D.

Have no idea if he is better than HS. Even if he is what are the chances of the coaches admitting they were wrong and handing the reigns over to a true freshman? Not happening. The only quick fix(maybe) is bringing in a transfer which we all know is not happening. BTW the transfer portal is full of P5 QBs wanting a new start.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
