I will be very interested in our offense this game. I know that Mercer probably doesn’t have the front 7 that Chatt or some have (Mercer is young) and our OL may open some good holes.. but I’ll still be interested in our play calling etc

Threw a lot on the first series which is good but completing some would be nice.

Run defense is good, pass defense like its been for many years, like swiss cheese.

Cronic deserves credit. That was a lot of trickery on the first drive and they handled it w a bunch of underclass and fr QB. ON other hand we really do have a habit of giving up almost points early. It’s as if we adjust well but don’t prepare well in week prior. We always get behind. Granted our WR was wide open - HAVE to complete those passes

I liked that we came out and wanted to establish a pass game. I didn't like that we did it in so many pairs consecutively. I like the way our front 7 had played on D but our DBs seem to be just tackling and not trying to cover.

Sigh. I hate complaining. Guys got to get it together.

You ever notice on our KO returns the first man downfield makes the tackle on our guy 9 out of 10 times?

We’re just not fundamentally sound sometimes. The blocked FG should have beena a TD. Mercer had one guy that could make the tackle and he goes right thru 5 purple guys and makes the tackle.

Gotta love those 2nd and 19 and 3rd and 18 calls. Why dont teams against us just run up the middle on second and third and long indtead of completing 10-20 yd passes and trying to get a first down instead of just conceding like we do.

Will say our second and third and long calls are super conservative

ET beats VMI does ETSU get the auto bid now even though VMI will have one more win? Both with one loss. IMHO ET should get it.

We didn’t learn to block or throw the ball away during our week off .....

Running game in high gear the first half: 23 carries for 53 yds. Mercer already surpassed their average passing yards in the first half.
