When was the last time we had a coach turn down a pro contract to stay at Furman?

Probably not a hard decision. I think he is ready to begin his coaching career. Why waist s year or 2 on something that will be gone in a year or 2 like all the other start up football leagued.

I just hope he will complete a season of coaching Furman and it will be a positive experience for him, his family, and all concerned with Furman football.

I don't blame him.
I'd bet on long term success at Furman and based on the last season, I'd double down on that bet.

He's been great for us from a PR perspective, now it appears he's helping from a recruiting perspective too. He's a rising star and hope we can keep him for a few years. Whatever becomes his career path I wish him success, he's good people.

Good people attract more good people. It all started with Coach Clay. Let the snowball continue.
