He'll fit in there worse than he fit in in at UT. I don't blame them for hiring him, though.

Can’t wait for the Ole Miss/Alabama game next year. Pregame will be a hoot!

Meanwhile, App State won the Sun Belt, is ranked, and will not be going to a big bowl. I just don’t see a lot of upside to being low FBS unless you can go to a major bowl as Group of 5 winner. Which is a challenge as a member of Sun Belt or Conference USA.

$$$ and more $. I noticed the continued stadium expansion. I’d say their move to the SunBelt has paid dividends.

Exactly. Moving up has paid huge dividends for App State. To think there is not an upside is silly. There is no money to be made at the FCS level, unless you are N. Dakota State. It’s a money pit.

Yeah obviously money is on a different level. My whole point was about level of play, and a bowl in Alabama despite winning league and being ranked doesn’t get me excited. To be fair, if they hadn’t choked at home against Georgia Southern they might very well have ended up as the Group of 5 representative.
But App is clearly playing the long game and if they end up in the American I’ll change my tune.

App St will be in the ACC within 10 years.

Agree, they would certainly be more competitive than most of the current ACC members.
