POLLS

Of course our poll watching took a dramatic turn today. We went for hoping for a top 8 seed and maybe a couple of home games to hoping for an at-large bid and on the road . I'm thinking we tumble pretty far after the debacle today. A little good news is a couple of teams right behind us lost also. Nicholls #9 got shutout today and Jacksonville St lost again. NC A&T plays tomorrow. A lot of teams had byes this week. I'm thinking we drop to around 15 give or take a spot.

Montana losing big right now as well. Sac St might belong ahead of us.

Sac St. wins 49-22 and will definitely jump us as they were already #17 so they will jump 6-7 spots and we will fall about that many. We of course missed the opportunity to move up at least one.
#6, #8, #9, #14, #18 and #19 all lost.

For FUBear: Austin Peay lost to 1-6 Tennessee St. today. Still think they are better than Wofford?

I am still hoping for the automatic bid for winning the conference.

BUT I am focused only on beating Western!

Loss was not good...Not end of the world...Furman has a good football team...Wasn't Furman's best day...You have to give The Citadel credit...They were just dominant today in every phase...But that doesn't alter my view that Furman has a good football team.

I hope we are not seeing a pattern in SoCon play:
Game one- Big Win
Game two-Barely win
Game three-Win Big
Game 4-Lose
Every big win has been followed by a much poorer performance.

That's good but the issue is we didn't beat VT or GSU so we can't claim those as good wins. I don't think the committee is smart enough to say "oh Furman played close to GSU and VT who then beat Army and UNC and VT beat Miami.. " I doubt many here have that kinda faith in FCS committee

I wish CSU had beaten NC A&T earlier in year

Add #11 to the list of teams that lost this week as NC A&T lost to unranked Fla, A&M Sunday in OT 34-31 in a game that was postponed from Saturday.

from I think only Furman . ... then Woff and Furman... to Chatt, Woff and Furman (3 socon teams) - I personally think it will come to hopefully 2 of those 3 teams getting in. Want to see the SoCon stay a 2 bid league.

"Since its inception in 2008, NoBowls has correctly predicted 191 of the 204 teams selected to participate in the FCS postseason."

I bet their prediction rate is based on after the season ends and not 5-6 weeks out. Right now it doesn't mean a whole lot.

AP, you are exactly right: Its a 'if season ended today who would be in the playoffs'...

from his site: "Every week's bracket is based on an "If the season ended today" mindset. The 10 automatic bids are just that: automatic. Whichever team is atop the standings of each of the 10 auto-bid conferences at the end of the week receives a bid. Expectedly, teams on top of conference standings early in the season often are not in the same spot come Selection Sunday. The other 14 bids, the at-large selections, are simply the teams I believe to be the best remaining in the country. Keep in mind again this is not a prediction of what I think the brackets will look like in late November, but rather a collection of deserving teams week to week."

By year's end this guy is good hitting at over 90% ! Granted, the 10 autobids give him 10/24 that he knows he gets right but still.. 191 out of 204 is a good predictor.
