Furman vs Citadel

I’d like to read some discussion about what we have to do to beat Citadel.
Also, I’d like to know if they’re busing in cadets in mass to Paladin Stadium to support their team.

Just be like VMI. Shouldn’t be too hard...

Affirm. I would like the same thing. Like is Citadel pure triple option? I know Woff runs a different ‘option. Can someone explain the difference ? I THINK the Citadel is pure triple option? But then w I've seen FUBeAR indicate it’s Rainey left or Rainey right. And FUBeAR KNOWS his stuff!!! The FS has to cover who. SS covers what? How do ILB and OLB best beat the option? I’m worried
I would like to LEARN. I hear about LBs scraping etc. if someone could help me understand thanks in a advance
Furman does a great job stopping option. I’ll be interested to see new guys (Staggs gone) do it. He was known as the option stopper - he beat Citadel TWICE at CSU the year Citadel beat USC !

GF, seriously, not jabbing. I just googled triple option football. Everything you want to know is there. Complete with pics, diagrams, videos and the different service academies variations.

It's impossible to answer that question in a post. Assignments both running and defending the triple option can change play to play.
What I saw the Citadel run against Samford really wasn't much triple option. It looked like option football, but it was mostly just pitches, dives, and QB keepers. There wasn't much "option" to it.

Not even that, they threw 35 times. I think they were baiting the FU coaches yesterday by only throwing 5 times vs. 35 the week before. If I had too guess they will throw much more than 5 times against FU.

Gman right. And thanks for saying you are not jabbing!!! Nice of you - I mean that and appreciate that. But it was less a question of triple option and
maybe I didn’t articulate it well. Probably my fault! I guess I was asking what Citadel does specifically etc.
I guess here’s my thing. I post on other boards (stocks , sports what have you) like Duke basketball and at Duke basketball they have videos of the art of hedging versus icing and the 7 variants Coach K runs etc. so I have learned a lot there on that board and they reply very kindly. I didn’t even know about icing Vs basic hedging (I knew hedging) in basketball until those guys showed me. I can’t seem to get that detail here ? That’s all

Thanks Jackal. I am looking at most recent game vs western. Granted western is horrible on D. But it seemed Citadel
Finally got back to more standard triple option yesterday.
Is that right? . I admit I have only seen about half of the game so far

Western's defense is awful. I imagine any team can just about do what they want offensively.

That's the point. Citadel knew they could beat WCU without throwing any if they wanted to. So they want FU to think they won't throw it but of course they will. I am sure the FU coaches expect an air raid.

Well, they threw it a bunch last week and lost to VMI at home.

Wofford had no problem with Furman in those playoffs. Beat us twice that year, season before last.
