Paladins ranked #11 this week

#10 UNI gets killed by NDSU 46-14

#9 Towson lost to Albany 38-21

#6 Montana St. lost to Sacramento St. 34-21

When was the last time Furman was ranked in the Top 10 in the nation?

#5 Villanova also lost to JMU 38-24, but I don't expect them to drop much

Don't count your chickens. Several teams right behind us won so they could jump us.

Nobody will jump us, #12 Nichols barely beat a 0-6 team and #13 NC A&T was off as well

If they hold on, Youngstown St will make a big jump, maybe all the way into the top 10. But UNI and Towson are locks to drop below the Paladins. I doubt Montana St will fall quite enough . . . you have to look not only at the current ranking but also the voting point totals. Sacramento St is unranked (though #27 including the ORV) but #11 in Massey even before crushing the Massey #9 team on the road.

Bottom line is that the Paladins should wind up #9 or #10 in the next coaches and STATS polls.

We have to take care of business first against El Cid.

Montana State now has three losses. I can't imagine a team this early in the season being in the top 10 with that many but we'll find out Monday.

Not first, second. New polls come out Monday.

Yep, most people on AGS thought Montana St was a fraud and should not be ranked that high. Don't have to worry about YSU making a big jump. South Dakota St. outscored them 35-14 in the second half and won 38-28.

Actually they are 5-2
MSU ESPN:

But I do expect Furman to jump them and be ranked #8 in the new poll Monday

Almost 100% certain it was the first week of the playoffs in 2006. We were 8-3 and ranked #7 and went to Bozeman to play #18 Montana State. We lost and fell to #12 in the final poll.
