The only one that was pending was the ETSU game and it figured to be a night game. Was it two or three years ago when we had the 4th quarter collapse/meltdown/nightmare there?
Yeah…and we need to be thinking about this “4th quarter collapse/meltdown/nightmare” too, because…

…because…um…uh…um…well…no reason, really.

According to Sam Herder...

We go 7-4 this year w/ the losses to Clemson, ETSU, Mercer, and then either WCU or VMI with Furman beating Chattanooga. "SoCon will be a battle this year."

2018. Harris Robert's senior year.

Furman led 27-6 in the 3rd Quarter and 27-13 in the 4th quarter.

Weird game. Furman managed to lose a big lead with 0 turnovers and 3 penalties. Offense just couldn't move the ball in the second half.

7-4 seems good. Inferiority against 3 or 4 or 5 So-Con teams seems not good.

Hopefully, after Media Day, we'll get a media release about the pre-season practice schedule.

7-4 is safe. 8-3 is possible, maybe a trifle optimistic. I see ETSU game as a toss-up, but we will definitely lose to someone we should beat.

Those halftime home fans boos in Columbia in ‘82 was the sweetest song FUBeAR has ever heard.

I think Furman and ETSU have the most unpredictability due to coaching changes. We will see how these changes play out short term and hopefully long term.

7-4, 8-2 based on last year, I don't feel is too optimistic; we had our chances to win in all the SoCon losses except one Mercer. Which frustrates the crap out of me. Let's hope Furman starts playing pissed off against Mercer and flips the script. Sorry, FuBear, I have about as much love for the Bears as I do Wofford.

I really like the coaching changes-does that guarantee success for the DINS in 22? No.
I know it's not overly logical, but Holy Cross's rise gives me much hope and excitement for the DINS offense in 22.

We probably do not mention him enough, but I was impressed by Joshua Harris this past season. Even with an unsettled QB position, he put up 29 receptions for 295 and a SoCon all-freshman nod. With just a cursory glance back, I think those numbers would be at or among the top receiving numbers for a freshman WR in a while.

There was some comment earlier about how our WR lacked the ability to separate. The film begs to differ:

NC A&T's DB here is giving Harris a nearly 10 yard cushion and Harris blows right past him.

As I think about it, the highlight on Harris' catch also might draw some interesting contrasts to Quarles and Roper.

There, we've got two running backs in the game - one next to the QB and the other lined up behind the in-line TE.

Again, Roper's single-back offensive set is something we've already been doing. Technically, Furman has two running backs on the field, but the look is meant to mirror the single-back approach. This was common with Quarles - keep the same personnel on the field and attempt to give a defense different looks with the same players.

I think Roper is going to give a similar offensive look, but with different personnel. The addition of Gissinger (6'4 240) should allow Furman to offset Miller and then move our more physical running back next to the QB. We will become a more dangerous running threat and passing threat.

More than that, I think the play also highlights what Furman needs to do to be successful. A&T pulls all of their defenders up towards the line of scrimmage. The CB is playing well off the ball and taking away the deep throw down the sidelines. The LBs are flying up at the first hint of a run play. The defense is effectively daring us to do the one thing we did - make a throw to the middle of the field against zone coverage.
