From what I can dig up all the committed players seasons kick-off on the 4th. With no fall Paladin games, I'm going to try to keep up with our commits games and post opportunities to watch them live (digitally) as well as stats when possible.

FYI - Jace Wilson has transferred to Mayde Creek in Houston from Del Valle in Austin > the move was for his father joining a new coaching staff at Mayde Creek. Jace's dad - is now the Ass. Head Coach and receivers coach.

Mayde Creek was a playoff participant last season in what is considered a league with a ton of talent - Katy District.

I’m married to a Mayde Creek grad and have a sister in law teaching at their junior high.

Big school. Some of the biggest football in Texas.

Katy, Texas football is a different animal.

Mayde Creek is one of 9 massive high schools in the district. The district has at least two big football stadiums, Rhodes Stadium (https://texasbob.com/stadium/stadium.php?id=518) and Legacy (https://texasbob.com/stadium/stadium.php?id=1699). Both stadiums are larger than most of the FCS facilities Furman will play in.

What is so unique to me, as someone who rode the bus all around Georgia playing high school sports, is that Jace Wilson will play his entire season in one of those two stadiums just miles from the school. Home and away, they'll never go outside the district.

Just in case someone hear's that a Mayde Creek Qb has been arrested it was the QB from last season. Mayde has a new head coach and a new QB (Jace).

We need to sign his WR battery-mate too!

Thinking his middle name has to be Nu. If not, we’ll change it when he gets here.

I can already hear Dan Scott’s voice in my head...”That tricky Alpha Nu Khan works again & SCORES! This young Alpha Nu lad has gone deep 3 times tonight, Paladin Fans. That’s truly hitting another gear!”

John Ferguson, 6'5 275

Athens' Academy, which for those of us that have spent time around GHSA Class A football for a minute, consider one of the OGs of private schools at that level, is the #2 ranked team in the state.

Just for comparison, UGA's top QB commit is on the #4 team in Class A.

Yes - there are certainly some good INDIVIDUAL players in GA Class A Football. I think Herschel’s HS was single A when he was in school.

Herschel Walker's High School is Still Class A, oddly enough. There's only about 8,500 people in the county.

An updated list of Furman commits:

Jace Wilson 5-10 170 QB Austin, TX
Devin DuCille 5-11 220 RB Alpharetta, GA
Myion Hicks 5-11 215 OLB/RB Dallas, TX
Joshua Harris 6-3 175 WR Kennesaw, GA
Landon Whittemore TE 6-4 225 Macon County, TN
Jack Healy TE 6-3 220 Wilmington, DE
John Ferguson OL/LS 6-5 275 Athens, GA

Tommy Beuglas 6-1 225 MLB Buford, GA
Bryce Stanfield 6-2 250 DE Harrison HS, GA
Christian Paraison 6-3 245 DE Ft Walton, FL
Alex Maier 6-4 225 DE Fleming Island, FL
Jason Gilliom 6-2 190 DB North Gwinnett HS, GA

Based on a tweet yesterday by Coach Lamendola, Furman picked up three commitments yesterday. Ferguson is one, so we have two more to go. I have a few guesses who based on offers out there to players who've not yet committed.
My guess is one of these commits is an OL or DL maybe both?

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
