You are indicating 3PM. Have you heard a change to the game time? It's currently scheduled for 2PM.

Nah - just tryna cover pre- & post-game tailgating…and happened to leave the 3 PM hour ‘highlighted.’

Oh…and the slot not shown on the left (10 AM-ish) showed something other than ‘just cloudy’…so, y’know FUBeAR…always accentuating the positive…

I came into the year saying how much we could have done if we could have scored 25++ in every game last year.

We now have (vs FCS only) 27pt (27-14) at ETSU.. and 24pts (24-19 at CSU). Both enough for a win. I could see this being a game where we definitely need the 30ish range in points. Our D has been awesome !! allowing 14 and 19 pts to FCS opponents. I could easily see Sammy doing better than that as I consider them a definite notch better than CSU overall and maybe ETSU - esp on O. As FUBeAR said, we are going to give up some FGs and we need to score some TDs. This iteration of Sammy seems to have more diversity on O and some run game as well as better D - boo

I guess I would just like a boring win after the last 2 weeks .. I am stressed in every 4q4

What do you all see as keys on our offense.. to beat Sammy in particular ? To me it is simply the ability to run ball with a bad attitude! - in most wins vs Sammy through the past years the games we won were the ones we just ran the ball all up and down the field. Remember that beautiful win at Sammy where we ran all over them? LOVED IT. I haven't seen great running from our basic run game at ETSU or CSU. ETSU was keying on our basic run game (allowing more pass or Huff to get edge).. CSU DL was beating our OL in the first half and then our OL got better in the second half - impressive. I just want a nice 250 yd run day full of Roberto. Please...

Hoping for a good crowd but doubtung it. Weather geeks scared the crap out of everyine and even thiugh they have changed there tune prolly too late now. I just checked the ticket site and if it is correct it looks like it coukd be a big crowd if peeps show up. Sections 3, 7,and 8 are sold out. Section 4 has less than 50 left and sectiin 2 has less than 20 left. Sectiins 1 has 300 plus, section 5 350-400 and section 6 less than 200 section.

Look, Furman should be favored to win this game.

Samford is higher ranked, but that's really the product of voters over-valuing Kennesaw State in the preseason. Oddly, Furman will benefit from KSU's lofty preseason ranking if they happen to beat Samford, which is odd, considering we don't play KSU.

I digress.

At this point, you can make some reasonable comparisons. Both teams played top 5 FBS teams and a variety of teams that range from bad to pretty good. Both teams have handled their business to this point.

On paper, Furman is the better team. Better on offense. Better on defense.

The matchup I am excited to watch is Furman's DBs against Samford's QB. Furman has built a very good defensive backfield and leads the league in interceptions. Samford's QB has been very good at avoiding turnovers in the passing game. I expect Furman is going to be able to throw a lot more sub packages at Samford than WCU or Tennessee Tech did. Furman's ability to get their hands in passing lanes and tackle from the backfield may be the difference.

Samford is plenty good enough to beat Furman. Both teams are going to lean on their defenses to force the opposing offense out of their comfort zone. Both teams are going to want to dictate their style of play.

Better than when what’s his name left for good on 20 Jan 2021. Dividends higher on most DOW stocks. And country safer.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
