And 6-7 340? Why is he playing DT and not OT? Must not be able to move feet well at all.

Apparently, that is not a requirement … from what FUBeAR’s seen of (almost) all 6-7 FCS OT’s.

I don't know JACK about offensive linemen and what makes them great or what the heck the coaches look for. It appears we're looking for players with length - especially at tackle. Hasn't CCH said as much?

Anyways—our highest rated 'o-line' recruit for 2025 is 6-2 Grady Smith, rated by 247SPORTS a 3 star 84 rating…
#77 is 6-7 363. He was a 3-star HS recruit. If we can land some 6-7 OLmen that play every play like #77 does on this play, FUBeAR will be elated!

6-6 321 vs. 6-2 238

Fight in the Dog or Dog in the Fight?

FUBeAR favors the former…frequently.

With the DB departures, a few transfer DBs have gotten offers.

North Alabama DB, Furman is first offer. Originally at UCF before transferring to UNA.

Davenport DB, Furman is first offer.

Portal will always be an adventure for Furman. We have three main challenges:
1. Academics - Furman admssions is tough on transcripts and transfer credits.
2. Tuition/Cost of attendance - if its not a full ride, we price out of a the player compared with a state school
3. Graduate level programs. - if it is a grad transfer, we don't have an MBA type deal. We have "innovation and Leadership" and "advocacy and social policy" and then we have design, education, chemistry and community medicine. If we had a more "football friendly" grad program like an MBA or sports management, exercise science, etc. It's one of the reasons we don't have a functional Graduate Assistant position on the coaching staff, there is no real graduate classes and coaches would want to take.
