I just don’t see how Wofford is going to avoid, eventually, having to also disassociate. These guys aren’t the radical #MeToo crowd. They are relatively conservative Sports Guys.

They may not have a choice...the dissociation, at least from the Panthers, may begin whether they like it or not:

I don’t think Wofford really minds losing the Panthers Training Camp so much. The City/County is probably more negatively impacted by that loss & I don’t think that Wofford really expects to keep it now that the Panthers are no longer affiliated with Mr. Richardson.

Wofford’s risk/exposure is having to stop taking his money, of which he now has an additional $2B. If you look at what has happened at Louisville in the past 48 hours or the share price of PapaJohn’s...from whom the Falcons & Atlanta United disassociated today, unless Wofford’s bricks are actually Teflon, I just don’t see how they can continue with their current stance, which is essentially saying...

“We love Uncle Jerry & we don’t understand what the fuss is about. Y’know it was only a few women that said he sexually harassed (or whatever word you choose) them & only 1 African American said he used a racial slur. That’s not really too bad.”

...& survive in this ‘woke’ world of mass & social media we live in today.

I speculate that they are right now (“right now” probably just became sooner because of the Louisville / PapaJohn’s Schnatter ‘thing’) trying to find a way to publicly disassociate, which means changing things on-campus - names of scholarships, buildings & removing monuments, etc., but Privately, continuing to tell him they ‘still love him,’ and keep the cash flow flowing...and tap into the even bigger pipeline that’s now there. The Panthers statue ‘thing’ tells me that’s going to quite a feat if they can pull it off.
