UMass announced today they will start play in mid-October. They are an FBS independent. With the PAC-12 and MAC expected to announce a restart this week about 90 percent of FBS will wind up playing this fall and it could wind up 100%. Also So. Illinois(MVC) and SE Missouri)OVC) announced a game for October. Looks like the only ones playing winter/spring FB will be FCS teams.
Then we'll be the only game in town. Looking forward to the Lunch and Learn with Coach Hendrix tomorrow at noon. Maybe we'll hear some good news.

Dang - beat me to the punch on the SEMO @ SIU game...going to pretend you didn’t...

Welp, FCS Football Fans, unlike what Coach Carole King once told us, IT’S NOT TOO LATE, BABY.

JUST ANNOUNCED - The SIU Salukis will be hosting the SEMO Redhawks on Friday, Oct. 23 @ 7 PM ET - sounds like they’re thinking about a strong TV spot there although nothing official has been announced.

https://fbschedules.com/southern-illin ... l-matchup/

That brings the total number of FCS Teams with at least 1 game scheduled this Fall to 17...and counting.

Sources are telling FUBeAR that more FCS Teams are currently considering jumping into the pool & playing a game or 3 this Fall, and actively in the process of pursuing interesting matchups. No SoCon Teams specifically referenced in these ‘rumblings’...but who knows. We’ll see...

Been all for playing in the fall but think it’s too late now. We would have had multiple opportunities for “interesting” matchups but they have all been taken now.

Didn't the B1G schedule that was announced allow for one non-conference game? Have they all been scheduled? Our decision to play this fall would have been easier had we not lost our money game (Tennessee). A decision to pursue fall play now may also hinge on a money game. I'd love to see us get one, if the MAC doesn't take all of them from the B1G.

Interesting but completely predictable polling in this article https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/meet- ... g-n1240652

I guess 75% of GOP types are for playing. 70% of Dems are against playing. So this argument has been political all along. And I bet that 70% is against football with or without a virus. The other 30% is playing or watching a friend or relative play.

No. Yes. Conference only.

Thanks. If that is the case, with no money to be made, I don't see any reason at this point for us to play in the fall. Let's gear up for spring football.

The Pac-12 came and now hours later the Mountain West are back with an 8 game schedule. That leaves the MAC as the only FBS conference not playing but I suspect that will change soon.

As I predicted the MAC is coming back so now all FBS conferences are playing this fall. All FCS conferences are playing in the spring. Is this some sort of conspiracy?

Absolutely. The FBS conferences are banding together just to spite you.

Watching SC and UT. Just a shame we didn’t get a chance to play them. Think we would have had a real shot at them.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
