Is it possible for El Cid to cancel one of its remaining Fall games to stay eligible for the SoCon?

Their remaining games this fall are at Army (no way would they ever cancel that one) and at home this weekend against E. Kentucky.

If apaladin is correct in that "a couple" of SoCon schools may not play in the Spring, then it would be possible for citadel to play and compete for the championship as long as they don't have to play 8 SoCon games and go over the 11 game max. That is unless citadel is one of the schools that decides to opt-out for the Spring.

I guess the question is when does the SoCon need to know who is in and who is out?

That’s what CCH said, He said the SoCon should set a date to commit, either in or out and the schedule could be set and everyone would know if they need ooc games and how many.

Seems there are a lot more questions than answers about SoCon Spring Football. Best contain my enthusiasm until The Big Reveal.

Given the SoCon's recent actions, we prolly won't hear anything earlier than a week before the start.

Can’t imagine playing football in February in the Dakotas, Montana. I played ball one time in ND Labor Day weekend and was cold. I guess as they say “they are used to it”. Hopefully the SoCon will release a schedule by Christmas.

If you read the release, the early games will be played in domes or in the "southern" region of the conference footprint.

Southland: every team has three bye weeks? Why not start later and hopefully have better weather?

I think UNI has a dome, but the most "southern" teams are in Illinois and Missouri. It's going to be cold.

Which do you think we will know first, the SoCon football schedule or the Paladins basketball schedule?

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
