THIS COPIED FROM ASTRODIN MARCH 6:
"... Furman has 30 offers out there as of 3.6.2020 Below are some breakdowns."
TX - 6
NC - 6
AL - 3
FL - 3
GA - 3
TN - 3
IA - 2
DC - 1
MO - 1
SC - 1
VA - 1
In case your counting - we've offer players from 11 states.
"
After the above was posted, I see 3 more from Georgia, so the Georgia total now would be 6. I see zero more from SC, so the SC total now would still be 1. See 3 more from NC, so the NC total would now be 9.
Yes, I am looking forward to seeing more offers to, and getting numerous commitments from, good GA and good SC players.

Mars, PA, is 18 miles from Pittsburgh. (One of the schools in the Mars area is known as the Fightin’ Planets.). Mars, PA, is 24 miles from Moon Township, PA. Moon Township is the location of both FCS Robert Morris University (Colonials) and Pittsburgh International Airport. Maybe Furman could recruit some good players from both Mars and Moon, and maybe we could get a home & home contract for football games with Robert Morris University.

I was impressed that CH flat-out said we have been thin at WR as to overall depth/quality. Gordon was great but we needed at least one more star.. a guy who scares the other team with speed and skill. I don't want coach-speak. Say it like it is .. CH does a pretty good job of that. Personally, I still think we are a guy short of a full complement. IE, if you compared our RB group to our WR group I think most of us would agree the RBs - as a group - are better the past few years. Need at least 2 or 3 scary WRs

Hendrix has always been pretty open about depth issues.

Some of the issue at WR is just crummy luck. There were at least three guys - Burnette, Shiflett, and Bell, that would have played a lot of snaps for us last year. Burnette transferred, Shiflett played a little at the beginning and Bell a little at the end.

Jackal, I agree. I hope some combination of Bell, Shiflett, Charlotte transfer and the new guys can provide 2 or 3 guys who we can count on and who have the speed and skill to open things up. This team would have won at least one more game (the Citadel game) if we could just complete 15 passes of 5-10 yards to open up the run game. Sometimes it's a simple game.

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
