But Wofford - to call it out honestly - MANHANDLED us far more the second time. I think they absolutely "wanted to face us" in those playoffs. They finally had both stud DL back (they didn't the first time we played them close) and we had noooo answer for that.

It's citadel week. Nothing else matters. Dan Scott mentioned on his show this morning that citadel is going to bus the entire corps of bellhops to Greenville. So, we'll have plenty of bellhops to tote our luggage from the parking lots to the stadium.

Good they are coming. I am pretty sure they take the cadets to every road game.

Some away games yes, but not every, for example they did not take them to Samford a few weeks ago

One of the three posts on their fan forum says, “ No one buys tickets to the Furman game, we just walk in the gate backwards and tell the furman grads we are leaving. Been working for 15 years.”

i thought so too, but then I remembered we outsource Stadium operations & heard the company with the contract hires mostly CIT alums. They just love wearing those uniforms!

I hate wofford but i am OBJECTIVE w facts. - I was told they couldn't POSSIBLY / IN ANY UNIVERSE ever be a top 25 team a few days ago. they are now about 30th. My objectivity is paying off. they just went from 34th to 31st... beat mercer and western and Chatt.. they will be about 25th. that's actually good for us to play a ranked team. I would have said same about the possibility of VMI getting votes - ITS JUST MATH. As Ben Shapiro says " "my facts don't care about your feelings" - LOVE IT.

On other hand, Woff won SoCon 2017 AND 2018 and we did not. They got in playoffs last year, we did not. I don't think those are days long gone by. we are talking 17 and 18 - the most recent data we have ! We CRUSHED them last year and no one loved that more than me. But watch their trend this year - they remind me of us in 2017.. 2 losses, scrapped the passing system. back to doing what they do ... rolling and CRUSHED ETSU way more than us. Also, the big diff in them and us in 2017 is they are senior laden (12 seniors) and back to running most of a system they already know. We were learning a new system in 2017.

quick Citadel fact - Cit is healthiest since GTEch game. Rainey and BBack are back to pretty healthy. Should we win? yes, but I am scared ;) .. but objectively Rainey was gimpy after GTech and it showed as it appeared to limit him getting the edge and timing. And the healthy BBack really helps them

Two deep released. Noteworthy - Austin Jones? This is the first week he is not listed on there. I am excited by what I heard about that kid. Lots of praise from people that know!
Anyone know if he is red shirting or just a definite 'no' for this week only? With possible playoffs we might have several games left so? Heck, considering he hasn't played at all we could let him sit next two games and play after that (skip POINT) and maybe help in playoffs. Could use that 4 game rule- He would have some reps to help us this year and prep him for next year too as he was moved from SS to FS

also, noticed ( again this is all public on our published two deep ) that we have one other change.. Pearson Toomey is no longer listed as backup RT. I had seen he wasn't playing recently vs Mercer or ETSU etc. Wonder if that is a redshirt thing since he is a True Fr? I could understand that. Keep his extra year! The only thing I don't love is I like the depth we have been developing w CH. I recall many years w Fowler or Lamb we had 8 guys on OL - 5 starters and 3 backups who rotated at 5 positions. For first time CH had us w 10 guys on OL .. w Toomey sitting we are at 9 guys in the 10 OL spots. I hope we can keep it at 9 guys.

It seems like McKinney has really improved and is getting reps at both OT spots and inside at G too. That's fantastic. It also looks like Anderson Tomlin and Clark Daniel (the AFA transfer) have started getting reps at T and G, respectively, as well. That is 9 OL actively participating (starting 5 plus Jumper, Tomlin, McKinney and Daniel) which is plenty of current year depth (even if Toomey has moved down to redshirt, along with Dan Dodd and Jacob Johanning). With the 3 guys red-shirting, and 2 blue-chippers already committed for this year's class I AM NOT CONCERNED about OL depth

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
