To be effective you have to have the athletes. Occasionally, Western get maybe one really good one.

More than likely we had been lining up in a similar formation where 1 or both of the receivers on that side were eligible. I dont know, just guessing. Give a D those multiple/similar looks and it all blends together as the game wears on if they are not paying attention.
I agree.

Three receivers to one side of the formation is nothing new. However, nearly every time you see a team do that, you will also see a receiver or TE to the other side of the field. What is peculiar is to see the three receivers and TE to the same side.

Effectively, Furman ends up doing what they often try to do on offense—gain a numbers advantage to one side of the field. WCU doesn’t appear to recognize that Furman had an extra player to one side of the formation.

It’s nothing fancy, but it’s hard for a defense to diagnose that.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
