Besides this obvious game of the week, there will be an elimination game in Chattanooga when the Mocs host Citadel. Loser is out and cannot win a share of the conference championship even if WC beats FU.
Furman: Simple, win and it's over. A loss and FU should get a playoff bid prolly on the road.

Wofford: Needs to beat FU and Citadel to win outright title. A loss to either and they are on the bubble for an at-large.

Citadel: Needs to win at UTC and beat WC at home coupled with a WC win over FU to get the auto bid. At large is really not possible.

UTC- Needs to beat Citadel and at VMI to have a shot at a shared SoCon possible. They cannot get the auto bid nor make the playoffs.

Regardless of what happens FU will be in the playoffs.. Win and we should get at least one home game and a possible bye. Lose and we likely will be on the road in the first round unless new AD JD can come up with some money.
Beat the little dogs!

Not sure a bye would be good for us. When you're on a roll, keep rolling.

We had a week off before the Citadel game. Did not work out well for us. When you rest, you rust.
I’ll get back to scout Furman Woff but wanted to note that several people have said the above and it’s Not true. Not for CCH at Furman. . We are 2-1 after bye weeks under coach CH.

This year was his only loss after the bye week. And yes it stunk to lose to Citadel :x But in the prior two years CH killed Citadel 56-20 after the bye week and beat top 15 Woff (our “best” win last year 34-14 in a whoopin !!!

I have noted this several times but people keep worrying about an off week. Two of our best performances under CCH and co. have come after bye weeks.

Worth knowing I Think as fans of Furman and CH

I AM SCARED. I wasn't scared vs ETSU and Citadel.. our closest win and only FCS loss. and I actually am scared.

Some interesting FACTS:
This series is about the most home tilted series I have seen for us: We have not won in Spartanburg since 2006 ! Stop and think about that. Thirteen years since we won over there.. and that's with TWO shots to win there in 2017.

2006 .. WIN ...35-21 Spartanburg
2007 ...Loss ....20-45 .GREENVILLE
2008 ...Loss ....10-35 ........Spartanburg
2009 ..WIN ...58-21 .........GREENVILLE
2010 ...Loss ....17-38 ........Spartanburg
2011 ..WIN ...26-21 .........GREENVILLE
2012 ...Loss ....17-20 ........Spartanburg
2013 ..WIN ...27-14 .........GREENVILLE
2014 ..WIN ...31-14 .........GREENVILLE
2015 ...Loss ....28-38 ........Spartanburg
2016 ...Loss ....27-34 .........GREENVILLE
2017 ...Loss ....23-24 ........Spartanburg L ....10-28 ........Spartanburg
2018 WIN ...34-14 .........GREENVILLE

Man, whomever is hom usually takes it. Let's end that

Let’s end the losing over there part, but let’s keep up the winning at our place part !!!!!!!!
In the series, we’ve lost twice at our place since they’ve lost any at their place.
And if we get to play them in playoffs, let’s beat them twice in the same year.
I’m not saying beating Wofford is going to be easy - far from it.

CCH has referenced this a few times - CCH coached Furman teams have played well on the road. I expect that to continue Saturday - that said it feels like a home game for the Dins.

The visitor's side will be right on top of the Dins sideline. I would expect a large group of Purple shows up. I do think this game merits a trip for our band 30 minutes down 85.

It is my understanding that the band has to be invited to away games by the host school. I don't think Wofford will do that.

The band has to purchase tickets. At $27, plus two buses, it’s not likely our band will travel. They most likely blew their travel budget at Ga. State.

Why does Wofford get a say whether paying Furman fans who happen to be holding trumpets can't come to the game?

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
