James had a few nice catches and blocks last night as TFA got a big win over Lipscomb Academy, one of the best teams in TN.

Hunter Taylor and Greenville are playing Dorman on local channel 14. Have been in and out so haven't gotten to watch Taylor too much.

Furman hall of famer Will Bouton's oldest son, who played with Knauber at Greenville last year, ended up at Clemson. The QB for Greenville this year is Banks Bouton, who I assume is Will's middle son. He's been a lot of fun to watch. Guy is a gamer. Led 4 straight drives to take the lead and almost took Greenville 80 yards in less than a minute to tie the game at the end. Banks had over 100 yards rushing and is something like 17-24 for over 200 yards passing. Forced a pass at the end which ended up being an interception, but a good game from him. I think he's a 2026 guy, so I guess we'll see if he's a prospect after this year.

WR target Luke Indorf and St Thomas Aquinas also played on TV this week. Didn’t get to see much of the game, but another WR on the team had like 12 of the 20-22 completions on the night. Furman is is only reported offer at this time. That was before the Stewart and James commitment though so I don’t know if he’s still a take or not.

Couple of catches from Braylon Stewart.

CJ Nettles had a nice night scoring 2 TD’s. Not sure how many yards he had from a quick search but here are a few clips from the game.

Some updates:

CJ Nettles has 292 all-purpose yards so far (169/123) through 3 games. Pensacola Catholic is 2-1 on the year.

Braylon Stewart has 24 catches, 392 receiving yards, and 4 TDs through 3 games including breaking out for 12 catches, 239 yards, and 3 TDs in his last game. Middle Creek is 0-3 to start the year.

Evan James has 16 catches, 367 yards, and 4 TDs through 4 games. There is a junior on the team (McCray) who is splitting most of the catches/yards with James. The First Academy is 4-0 including a win over a very good Lipscomb Academy (TN) program to open the year.

Brady Smith and CPA are 4-0 on the year including wins over Brentwood Academy and MBA (not sure how good they are now but they used to be traditionally good programs). CPA is averaging 165 yards rushing per game.

Hunter Taylor and Greenville are 0-3 on the year. I believe Greenville is one of those schools that moved up in classification with changes this year. Coach Shaw and the team haven't found their footing in 5A yet it seems.

Bryce Rainwater and Hillcrest are 3-0 and are averaging 196 yards rushing per game. Not sure who puts the stats in but MaxPreps stats say that Rainwater had 14 pancake blocks in 1 game this year. Going to need more syrup!

Eli Dorton and Anderson County are 3-0-1 on the year. Anderson County is currently #2 in TN class 4A.

Maddox Dykeman and Macintosh are 2-2. Dykeman has 18 tackles, 3 TFLs, 1 fumble recovery, and 1 blocked FG through 4 games.

Caleb Ellison and Oakland are 4-0 on the year and #1 in 6A. They are ranked as the #2 or #3 team in Tennessee by several publications. Ellison has 25 tackles, 1.5 TFLs, 1 fumble caused, and 2 pass deflections.

Nick Simmons and Ware County are 2-2 on the year (2 losses by a combined 5 points). Simmons has 13 tackles and 2.5 TFLs.

Connor Adams and Old Mill are 1-1. Adams has 6 tackles.

Bruce Brown and Daniel are 2-1. Brown is 15-15 on XPs and 4-6 on FGs with a long of 48. He's average 55.3 yards per kickoff.

FUWolfpacker - THANK YOU for doing this !! I love to see the list of other offers. A lot of competition with Wofford (which fits I guess, academic etc.)...

Sincerely thank you for all the detail like (PWO?) at ECU. LOVE to see the MAC and UNLV etc. Shocked to see Ole Miss and WVU. !! Wow - I hope that kid comes

This is a bit off-topic and more related to the 2024 class.
With one true freshman throwing to another true freshman for the game-winning score, I think it's fair to say that 2024 class has some talent.

A few commitments have been named to some all-star games.

Bryce Rainwater and Hunter Taylor have been selected to play in the Shrine Bowl! I know the Shrine Bowl isn't held in as much regard as it was 10-20 years ago, but that's still a big deal for Furman. We don't get a lot of Shrine Bowl selections historically. Congrats to Bryce and Hunter!

Braylon Stewart was selected for the East/West all-star game. I believe Pryor played in it last year, and maybe Chappell and Stoneking played in that game the year before. Congrats to Braylon!

Just a few updates:

Midseason CJ Nettles highlights

CJ Nettles has 1006 all-purpose yards (800 rushing, 157 receiving, and 49 KR yards) through 7 games and 12 TDs.

In an interesting coincidence, Braylon Stewart also has 1006 all-purpose yards through 7 games (800 yards receiving, 52 KR yards, 154 PR yards). He's 4th in NC receiving yards based on stats entered in MaxPreps.

Evan James has 629 yards and 5 TDs through 7 games.

Connor Adams has 663 yards rushing and 4 TDs on offense and 25 tackles/2 INTS on defense through 6 games.

Caleb Ellison leads a really good Oakland team with 53 tackles. 2nd on the team with 5 TFLs.

Nick Simmons has 36 tackles and 1 sack through 4 reported game stats (team has played 6, guessing not all the stats are getting put in)

Maddox Dykeman has 24 tackles, 4 TFLs, 1 FF, and 1 FR through 6 games.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
