Went to the practice and talked with a couple of the coaches. Obvious difference in their assessment of who we are now versus last year. Trey Hedden looks a lot different and our WRs are some athletes with some size. Defense had some big plays also. Can tell the coaches are excited about next year. Let’s just stay healthy!

Lot of big dudes in that video. Can also get a flavor for how useful a healthy Burrell is going to be for us. He's got that Ryan Miller-esque ability to catch the ball and hit another gear.

Several notes that Hedden is down about 20 pounds over last year, which I think would put him somewhere in the 210 range. If he can add that mobility to his arm and increased familiarity with the offense, we should expect a big jump forward from him this year.
If I recall correctly he was a pretty good hurdler in High School track. Needs to cut back closer to hurdling weight. Push away from Coach Food's training table.

Injury bug bit today. Will share once I learn a little more.
Holbrook. ACL. Likely not back this year.
Bad news is he was a guy that was going to play a lot and hate it for him. Good news is it is probably the deepest position group on the entire team.
Hearing really good things about the Wake WR transfer. We are just deep her with Ethan, jakeith, Ferguson, Burrell, the ECU transfer, Smithson, the FR James…. And Burrell who can play WR and TE.
I’m really excited to see what this group and Hedden can do with an improved OL and new look backfield.

That Coach Vaugn is one fine coach. I think, or maybe wanted hear, he said at the 2:23 mark we're improved in the pass coverage. But it was in coachspeak, so I need an interpreter. Also, I noted he did the entire interview sans pants, and seemed rightfully proud to do so.

Didn't think the UFFP would have me back, perhaps. Well, maybe I'm not "the norm". I don't "wear clothes that fit me". I'm not "hygienic" and "pop my white heads with a compass I used in high school".

That is unfortunate. Injuries are going to happen in any program in the pre-season. The hope is they don't pile up like they did before last season.
I agree, with you, though. Holbrook looked like he was going to play a lot, but we should, between our receiver depth and hybrid TEs, be able to fill in for him.

We are definitely not lacking big bodied receivers to put in the slot. Holbrook was going to play a lot, but Burrell is essentially a big wide receiver. Pryor and Tormey also saw a lot of time last year.
With Clyburn transferring in, there's is more flexibility in lining some of these big bodies out on the edge.
