12 Games. We scheduled 12 games this year. Are we allowed to schedule 12 a year from now on?

I'm saying this from memory without looking, but I think the way the calendar falls in 2024 and 2025 both meet the 12 game parameters (it has something to do with the first games in August)

So, while we have proven now that is hard to know what a team is going to look like from year to year... I like this schedule.

First and most important is we do not play the payday game at the first of the. I personally believe this was really bad this year with a team full of so many young guys. It probably had a major impact on their confidence and just the difference between Ole Miss and Chs. So. was so immense... It's just not a good set up. Getting Clemson so late is a major plus because we will either end on that game or have one after, and either way our SoCon situation will likely be sorted. And, Dabo generally likes to empty his bench early in these games, especially against in state schools, and that will help keep it reasonable (although he has less of a bench to empty with new roster limits).

Second, I like getting W&M at home. We may actually be able to visually see the game. And PC and NCA&T should be wins. As a comp, NCA&T lost 45-7 to W&M at home and are presently 1-10 I think.

So, OOC we CAN go 3-1 and should go 2-2 at worst, but I think we beat W&M at home so go 3-1.

Love having Citadel at home. Samford is the longest road trip, 5:30 by bus. All the other road trips are very reasonable from a travel standpoint which I think helps the team (we flew to W&M, bused back overnight from Ole Miss).

UTC and Western on the road may be the toughest games again. If we can go 3-1 in the OOC, win the home games, Samford and BEAT WOOFORD, and split with UTC and Western on the road, we probably win the SoCon or a share of it.

WHO SAYS I CAN'T BE OPTIMISTIC.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
