Scouting UTC

Need some scouting - whadda ya know that you can contribute to the board. What do we know about UTC???

Sometimes I feel we are too Furman-centric. BOTH sides - to Jackal's point - have D1 athletes.

Case in point, scout Ole Miss - WE AINT BEATING OLE MISS. Scout Stetson - we are probably winning that game every time.

Was surprised it didn't come up more that Citadel had a SIXTH year Liberty transfer at QB .. vs our True Fr !!! and who are the all-conference players on each side... etc etc

I will try to get to this myself later some.

I mean if we are REALLY Interested in our season... we should be scouting the other teams... but I get it - maybe we are just looking to improve ourselves this year. Though I hate to think we have conceded that much already. As a POSITIVE guy, I haven't conceded that yet.. if we lose the next two then yeah. Just trying to improve at that point

I will start with this.

They surprised me a little by beating ETSU .. AT ETSU ! beginning to think that Chatt IS the second best team in the league. Outgained ETSU 400 - 225 !! And ETSU has a good offense. This will be a Big challenge on both sides of the ball. Especially for our offense I think. Because ETSU was every bit as good as NDSU... and UTC stuffed them.
UTC got most yards through the air ... that said, the one weakness UTC showed was a lack of run strength, - 43 rushes for 116 yards is 2.7 yards per carry. ETSU did stuff the run pretty well and actually UTC did try to run a lot - 43 runs to 34 pass attempts.

UTC hung right with Georgia State (those who stole Darren ... who beat Vandy ! I mean, these dudes can play. If UTC makes the playoffs - whatever mascot they are - I will be pulling for them to rep the SoCon.

THey lost to Mercer 10- 3. That is Mercer's closest game by far. Granted, this was a great win by Mercer as it was AT Chatt. Each team had about 280 yards (much like our Citadel game ).... *The key being HOW they got to 280 yards. Mercer went old school rushing for 180 yards and 100 yards passing (roughly). UTC, on the other hand, went 260 through the air... and only TWENTY yards rushing!! 20 yards rushing on 19 attempts for a simple 1 yard per carry average.


Jackal, FUBeAR, Dave, FUATT, anyone have anyting on UTC?

Moson and Stephens still on the depth chart. Ty Kauserud has been added to the NG listing. Achina listed at back up Spur now (maybe to preserve Jones's redshirt). O'Dell no longer listed at back up guard (Wilson backing up both spots). Otherwise everything else looks about the same.

Odd. All word was they are out. Hope they are healthy !!!

They still could be. There have been times this year where the game notes depth chart and the starting lineup didn’t match. Could be gamesmanship, could be that those guys have supernatural healing powers.

Agreed, I hope they are healthy both for their sakes... and what they bring to the team. Personally I would be surprised if both are out there. Some on this board who posted about Harris a week or two ago said they are probably out. But hey, I can hope!
