Just musing around on the total W-L of the teams we have lost to, and find it interesting.

Of the teams we have lost; their combined record is 28-8 while the teams we have beaten have an overall record of 18-17. Our Total Opponents record is 46-25
For Comparison:
Colgate overall is 8-0... the combined W-L of the teams they have beaten is 21-49 and not one has a winning record
Wofford opponents overall record is 38-43 and only have 3 teams are at (1) or above (2) .500 that they have beaten
ETSU Opponents record is 37-51 and only 4 have records at (1) or over (3) .500
Samford Opponents record is 36-45 and only 4 have records at (1) or over (3) .500

Looks like our competition has been tougher than the ones above us...we didn't take the easy way out with our scheduling, and also we fell victim to a hyped Hurricane, and a team that did not want to take the risk (be it because of weather, or potential loss) to play us.
I think this shows that we are an above average team that (given the players above us) are strong enough to make the playoffs...but, it will just come down to a poll bias is my ever so humble opinion.

Agree. I doubt FU gets much of a look if at all. Like you said it will come down to top 25 as always. Those outside the top 25 pretty much won't get a look. Chances of FU getting into the final 25 are slim. Too many teams in front of FU. You never know so there is a chance.

That's why we need to
1) realize we can win a SoCon title this year! ...regardless playoff. (Need help by winnin' out and Samford beat ETSU)

2) finish strong so we are better ranked next year. Either ORV or about 25th..starting to get votes now

3). Not start freakin 0-3 every dam year. Both with our play AND scheduling. Playing Clemson and number 5 Elon just leaves no margin for error. I am not afraid of good teams ... But also a medium team every once in a dam while ? You don't see UGA scheduling Clemson and Notre Dane AND Oklahoma all 3'in their OOC. Considering we schedule UP a level to FBS we need a medium team. Maybe the answer is Charleston Southern. Get a win in the first two games to STAY IN THE POLL so it's not a total uphill climb every year .... We ALL know once you fall out of the poll it's so hard to get back in.
EXAMPLE. we started this year top 25 in polls. We Lost our first 3 games. Despite one of those games being. CLEMSON we were put out of the poll. Now we have won 4 out of 5 games. Playing good ball. Only 6 votes in the STATS poll. Dammit. You have to schedule to stay in the polls these days. Can't schedule where there is a high chance of 3 consecutive losses. Even if it's Clemson and Bama. That shouldn't hurt you but dumbazz voters don't notice who you played. . They just see your record mainly.

. Start at least 2-2 in September so we can go 5-2 the rest of the way to hit 7-4 which put us in the postseason last year

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
