Six SoCon teams played today.

For awhile it seemed Samford would continue their surprising start. They lead Ohio State at the half by 3 and were tied at 38 with less than 12 minutes to go but faded down the stretch and lost by 18 at Ohio State. Samford loses their first game to drop to 5-1 and leave Furman as the only undefeated team in the SoCon.
Western Carolina lost by 31 to Jacksonville State but the other SoCon teams won.
The Citadel went on the road and handed James Madison their first defeat of the season. The Citadel won in OT by 91-82 after losing a 10 point lead with less than 6 minutes to go in regulation.
VMI beat a non D1 school by 26.
ETSU completely switched the story on Sam Houston State. SHS lead big in the big half but ETSU came back and won by 14.
Mercer routed winless Maryland-Eastern Shore by 38.

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage

GoPaladins.com is not affiliated with Furman University or its athletics programs.
