Does a 12 Team Playoff tell us anything about how the P5ish might be planning to ‘break away’ from the G5ish?

Not sayin’ it does or doesn’t…wondering if anyone else has a ‘read’ on that.

Of course affirm does not know the answer to FUBeAR's question. I am also interesting in seeing anyone's read on the question.

At the same time, I wonder about something else that is related.

2026 is only 4 seasons from now. I wonder what impact "the 12 Team Playoff"and "the P5ish breaking away from the G5ish" will have on FCS. What impact will this have, if any, upon FCS teams including Furman being able to schedule a game or two each season against "the P5ish" teams. Will more of the P5ish be trying to schedule one FCS per season than is the case presently? Trying to schedule zero FCS per season and aim instead for G5ish only?

And more broadly, how with the 12 Team Playoff and the breaking away impact and possibly change FCS generally?

I realize this is a lot to think about and answers would be very much guesses at this point. But it is something for all FCS to have at least somewhere on the radar, even in 2022.

With all of the "ink being wasted" and all the "reading time being wasted" on these P5ish/G5ish, I would hope to see some of that ink and time being spilled over to shed some speculative light on FCS impacts.
