It's also the money. Attending college football games is expensive. Tickets, parking, concessions, athletic fund (Iptay, etc.) requirements just to purchase tickets.

Interest in playing or watching football is dropping. It is dropping fastest among the kids who are most likely to go to college and someday have the resources to do the full football Saturday experience. They might play Madden and watch a few minutes of a game here and there, but they probably won’t continue the all day, expensive, tailgate, game, fight traffic tradition. The days of huge crowds are probably numbered.

The younger generation has gotten used to instant news and instant gratification. There is no way they will sit through a 3 hour football game that has too many stoppages for tv commercials. Put a fork in baseball too.
