Important game to mention about took place in Sibiu. Seventh ranked Rapid (5-7) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging one of their biggest challengers Sibiu (5-7) 82-80 in the fight for the fourth place. Sibiu was ahead by 4 points at the halftime before a 19-9 third quarter run of Rapid. The winners were led by American-Cambodian guard Sayeed Pridgett (196-1998, college: Montana, agency: Diamond Sports) who scored that evening 23 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and American point guard Alex Hunter (180-1999, college: Furman, agency: BIG) supported him with 21 points. Even a double-double of 23 points and 13 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) by Senegalese forward Mouhamed Barro (204-1995) did not help to save the game for Sibiu. American point guard Jay Threatt (180-1989, college: Delaware St.) added 18 points and 7 assists for lost side. Rapid moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Sibiu. Sibiu lost third consecutive game. Rapid will play against higher ranked Pitesti (#3) at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Sibiu will play against Dinamo and hopes to get back on the winning track.
