Awesome….now give ‘em helmets & play the same rules as men…much better game.

If they can do it (for the most part) on the ice, why not on the turf?

Better analogy is softball to baseball .. both use a bat but completely different game. Women's lacrosse rules are finally catching up to the athleticism of the participants. They have done away with much of the start and stop fouls in the mid field and the addition of the shot clock has helped significantly.

Nah…

Hockey & Lacrosse are highly correlated - players move back & forth across a playing surface shooting an object with sticks at a defended goal. Opposing players attempt to prevent the movement of the object by the other team & gain possession of it.

If women & men can play (almost) by the same rules in hockey, they can in lacrosse.

FUBeAR would be A-OK with NCAA Women’s Baseball (as long as there’s no crying, of course) and/or NCAA Men’s Softball…or even Co-Ed of either/both. They are different games though. The differences in the balls (hard vs. (relatively) soft & small vs. (relatively) big) makes them different sports. Kind of like Frisbee Golf vs. (just) Golf.

Men’s & Women’s LAX are much more essentially the same sport with different rules for ‘girls’ - we’re past that kind of thinking, aren’t we?

I do agree the recent rule changes have stopped WLAX from resembling an odd version of Freeze Tag & ‘they’ are ‘getting there’ - just take the plunge. Let ‘em PLAY!

Nah.. the hundreds of HS girls I have coached almost universally don’t want to nor would would play the boys game rules.Good game as it is …level of difficulty in using a girls stick vs boys is hard to understand if you haven’t tried playing with both.Watch a live Furman game with the new rules in place and see if it changes your mind.

Never played nor Coached LAX…highly doubtful if I ever will.

Have watched a lot of Men’s/Women’s College & Boy’s/Girl’s HS LAX - Men’s/Boy’s games are fun to watch & action-packed. Women’s/Girls’s games have moved from tedious whistle-fests to ‘um…OK…not bad…could still be a lot better’

When Mimi FUBeAR, who turns 90 tomorrow, was a HS Hoops Star in the 1940’s, she played with 6 on a side (3 on Offense & 3 on Defense) & they were not allowed to go over the half court line. Apparently, they might have gotten ‘the vapors’ if they ran whole court. The rules changed and the ‘fairer sex’ adapted nicely…to the point that FUBeAR prefers to watch Girl’s/Women’s Basketball over Boy’s/Men’s because they play with fundamentals, pass the ball, box out on rebounds, and play Defense.

Not a gender bias thing for FUBeAR…FUBeAR likes to watch what he likes to watch…and he would like watching Women’s/Girl’s LAX a whole lot more…if they just played by, essentially, the same rules as Men’s/Boy’s LAX…as they do in Ice Hockey, Soccer, Basketball, et al.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
