Not hearing good things right now on campus about next year’s roster. Lots of guys upset with CBR and ready to hop in the portal. Expect MF, AW, and more to follow.

Hoping CBR can change some of their minds.

Hope it’s only rumors but if a player is not happy with coach it may be better they leave than further poison the locker room.

Wouldn’t surprise me if we lose a couple guys to the portal and I’m in favor of it. Not buying your roster collapse extreme scenario though.

I agree the full on roster collapse scandal is hard to buy. MF will most likely be gone along with maybe AW but I hope and pray that is it at all. Hope both come back but it is unlikely

Yeah... that was Alley Gym's first ever post too. Could be a disgruntled WCU fan. I do worry about some of our best players transferring, but I wouldn't get my hopes up too much. What will happen, will happen.

Ultimately, we are in good hands as long as CBR is our coach. That is the bottom line. I just think he does things the right way, is a great life coach as well as basketball coach. The grass is not always greener somewhere else as far as players leaving.

It was obvious much of the year that something was not clicking with this team. I expect several players to enter the portal. If they do, I wish them well. Looking forward to next season.

Goodbye if they are stupid enough to leave for money for one year with no guarantees when we had two stay last year and get good pro deals. Also, I wonder how 2 suspensions would look to a P5 ?

Yes, that is the bottom line: need to keep CBR.

Question? How enforceable is an athletic scholly? I had a son that played baseball some years back and those were annual renewable. If it is still that way, I would get mean, clean house get rid of dead wood and sign grad transfers. Is there a limit on how many times a guy can transfer?

I hope CBR retires from Furman but realistically that isn’t going to happen. I remember all the doom and gloom when CNM left and predictions of how the resurgence of FU basketball would suddenly end. Furman is a great destination for many up and coming young coaches ( including some really good assistants already on staff).

CBR headed to Clemson. Brownell sealed his fate with that debacle in DC last night.
