Love the emotions going on in this video!

So cool that he came back to FU with Bothwell for a 5th year so they could have a legendary season here instead of chasing some 'big school' offer, Slawson getting drafted really puts the icing on the cake!

I am sure UCONN is enjoying their national championship, but I am willing to bet the feelings down here in Greenville for the things this program accomplished this year have been just as fulfilling, possibly even more so!

$9M to start... wow

What is the rookie salary for each player taken in the NBA Draft?
The first pick in this draft will be getting $9,212,600 in salary in his first year. This decreases by 10 percent for the next player so on. By the end of the first round, players are only making a little less than $2 million — the No. 30 pick makes $1,828,300 in their first season. After their first year with the team, each player makes a five-percent raise.

For second-round picks, it is a bit different. Most second rounds picks have one or two years. The salary for the top picks in the second is around the same as for the first-round picks.

For the rest of the class, it starts around $500K. The keyword when it comes to the second round is guaranteed money. Obviously, the player wants to get the whole contract guaranteed. That will not happen in a lot of cases and there is more flexibility for teams and players to negotiate under the max salary.

Jalen billboards up on Woodruff Rd and across from the Well downtown. Sure there are other locations. Would post pictures but never can get any pictures or videos to post. I copy the picture click on the image button then hit paste and nothing happens.

Mike Bothwell playing in “a” summer league in Cleveland. Not sure if it is the one sponsored by the nba.

A partial list of players not selected in the NBA draft -

Oscar Tshiebwe, UK
Adama Sanogo, UConn
Drew Timme, Gonzaga
Jacob Toppin, UK
Terquavion Smith, NC St
Charles Bediako, Alabama
Mike Miles Jr., TCU
Ricky Council IV, Arkansas
Azuolas Tubelis, Arizona
Adam Flagler, Baylor

Tshiebwe was the 2022 college POY. Timme was a three time All-American. Sanogo was the MVP of this year's NCAA tournament.

The common link - those three guys were all strong, capable low post guys with limited versatility. Tshiebwe didn't hit a three all season and had low assist totals and a negative assist to turnover ratio. About 50% fewer blocked shots than Slawson. Timme had decent assist numbers but only hit about 17% of his threes and poorer steals and blocked shot numbers than Slawson. Sanogo hit 36% of his threes this year but only made 19 in 39 games. His blocked shots, assists, and steals numbers and a/to ratio also weren't good, either.

Not easy to get drafted.
