Perkins looks like a D2 transfer from Midwestern State in Texas where he started at CB. Another guy with a lot of game experience.

Furman has had a pretty high hit rate on getting transfers from smaller schools who come in and are big contributors.

I am anticipating that if Furman is tracking a D2 CB from a school in Texas, then Furman is probably doing a pretty thorough assessment of grad transfers.

I suspect they aren't just brining in any old person, but guys that fit the program and will be expected to be in the rotation right away.

Ivan Yates to Colorado.

I’d imagine that coach over there knows a good DB when he sees one.
Their GM also knows his way around Travelers Rest, a Paladin Secondary…and also North Atlanta Metro HS Football, from whence Mr. Yates previously matriculated as a Roswell Hornet.

Still a couple of months to go but CCH and staff have been really dormant in the portal this year. Thought we would see more with obvious areas that need help.

I am not sure that's a particularly fair assessment.

Last season, Furman announced three transfer offensive linemen (including Fred Norman) in late June. So, essentially right before summer workouts really ramp up.

I anticipate that a lot of these potential transfers have to graduate and then enroll at Furman before the announce them. Just because there's not a lot of social media chatter does not mean these players don't exist.

Joshua Burrell (Grad Transfer from FSU) just commited as a TE. After looking at his film I'm confused as to why. Was a dog coming out of highschool and had wheels. Maybe coming to Furman to get back to SC. Asking my buddy who played with him what's the inside scoop I'll update if I hear back.

Burrell has two years to play - his offer list out of HS was impressive.
Had several FBS offers and was set to visit SC.
He's about the size of Ryan Miller - a huge pickup!

I guess that Furman (Nick Verna) having tight ends sign with NFL teams back to back makes Furman attractive to a player looking to play in the pros.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
