I know this is something that has been talked about on and off for years. Of the SC schools, Furman had a similar number of SC HS commits compared to the others.

Montana has an interesting tradition - the #37 is passed down every season to a player from Montana. The player has to exhibit the spirit of the state.

A Furman equivalent could have been to pick a player from South Carolina and pass a number down.

Interestingly, I think on this 2023 team, I see only two of our primary guys that are from South Carolina - Hugh Ryan and Jacob Johanning.

To align with the tradition and spirit of the State of South Carolina, perhaps we should award the number #1 to a Player from SC who enters the transfer portal, but eventually returns to the union…uh, Team.

Not a very merry Christmas gift. Fredrick Logan has decommitted. Not surprising considering he didn’t sign last Wednesday. Was looking forward to cheering on another one of Coach Sochovka’s players.

When guys say “im in on early signing “ and then don’t sign I get nervous. At the very least it means you aren’t 100% sold. There is some wavering or something

Once we got past the signing period for December, I wrote Logan off. It's only speculation guessing why.
I will say Furman is very relevant today in the FCS landscape. Plus, we were the last Southern team standing this season.

I have confidence we will get our men.

I am sure the coaches will maximize that opening. And I believe that we were tight for spaces for transfers so this might be helpful.

The coaching staff should be able to fill this spot easily after our recent success. Not concerned. Quality players know the value of a Furman degree and the brand of football we play

What about Eubanks? Do we think he is going elsewhere. You say you wrote Logan off. Do you feel the same for Eubanks?

I'm still interested to see if Eubanks ends up on the roster before spring practice.

He's listed as a mid-year enrollee.

At 6-4 265 Ty is fast off the line.
I could see him playing DT for Furman.

Kauserud is another long-framed defensive lineman to add to the mix.

Will be interesting to see where he goes in Furman’s S&C program.

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
