Lorenzo Mcfadden-Pressley from Lake City is reporting an offer. He's an all-american wrestler and heavyweight state champ. 6'2", 285 2x all state DT. All-american wrestler DTs seem like a good thing to target.

Furman's first offer this year that I saw was Greenville High's Jayden Wilson-Abrams on 2/14/23. DT with offers from Ohio, SEMO, Charleston Southern, Howard, and Jackson St

Couple more offers…

Dashun Reeder (6’0”, 190 lbs) from Christ Church. I went to Johnsonville High, so got to see too much of Reeder in the state title game. Felt like he jumped off the screen more than most. Offers from Howard and limestone.

Malik Moses (6’4”, 250 lbs) from South Gwinnett. Would be a good get as he has a lot of offers so far. All people we’ve beat for recruits before. UCF, Troy, arkansas st, charlotte, SEMO, UAB, EMU, and Penn

Max Vest (6’3”, 225 lbs) DE/LB/TE from Richmond. Also has an offer from Air Force.

You can tell that Furman is really emphasizing the D-line so far.

Say no more. Should be a top target. Every offensive and defensive lineman should be wrestling in the winter.

^^^ Hall is shifty and fast.
It will be curious to see what position he plays for Furman.

He apparently led GHSA AAA in rushing with over 2500 yards and 32 touchdowns. He plays QB in their offense, but it's an open question where he might fit at the college level.

I see him listed at around 5'11 180.

Watching the film, he seems like he could be a Wayne Anderson type hybrid RB/WR slash type player - a movable chess piece who gets involved in both the rush and pass game.

He has excellent field vision, burst, and is a real tough guy to get on the ground. Looks like a great fit to the offense.

Hm. Seems to be a decently mobile quarterback, maybe a little shorter than average FBS quarterbacks, wears #6. Do guys like that do well at Furman?
^^^ not sure I would describe him as decently mobile. I believe Hall runs a sub-4.5. I would call him very evasive.
Hall appears to me physically similar to PJ Blazejowski. Not quite as big as Huff (6-1 208), but a tad more explosive. His film suggests he has the ability to play numerous positions for Furman.

I see a market inefficiency.

I don't know much about Hall other than what a brief internet search provides, but my guess is he probably plays QB because he's the best athlete on the team.

Looks like he's lightning in a bottle and the coaches figure the best way to get their most dangerous player involved in the game is just to let him take the snap.

Furman has had a fair amount of success over the years converting athletic high school QBs to play a different position at the D1 level. Duncan Fletcher, Colin Anderson, Ryan Deluca, and Trey Robinson jump to mind as all-conference types that played HS QB.

Just bringing this thread up for some air.
Furman is really busy recruiting and making offers.

A few things of note…
Furman appears to be recruiting SC heavily - and making offers.
Furman is very active in Virginia - and making offers.

Player attributes…
Tall receivers and tight ends - most of those offered are in the 6-3 to 6-5 range.
DL/OL that seem to fit the current staff's ideal 6-2 to 6-5, 280 to 300.
Tall edge-players 6-3 to 6-5

Good to know about the “recruiting SC heavily”. No reason that SC players should not be interested in playing for Furman, particularly over any other SoCon school - unless they assume or have been told somehow (perhaps incorrectly) that they cannot make it academically at Furman.
