Congrats to Terrier nation for the first ever top 25 ranking. Again the only major sport teams like Wofford can compete with the big boys. Coulda been Furman. Furman does not have a badeball team. ED took it away from us for no reason.

Wofford SUX

FUBeAR suspects we’ll see that next weekend (4/22-4/24) when Woffy (#31 RPI, #40 USAToday Coaches Poll) goes on the road & takes on the top SoCon Team (#22 RPI, #31 USAToday Coaches Poll & 21-2 @ Home, btw).

SCHOOL CONF OVERALL
Mercer 3-0 28-5
Wofford 3-0 24-9
ETSU 3-0 20-8
Samford 2-1 15-15
VMI 1-2 10-24
The Citadel 0-3 18-13
Western Carolina 0-3 14-18
UNCG 0-3 14-19

Both WC and MU swept this weekend so both are 6-0 in the SoCon. Wish the series this weekend was at WC as I would check it out.

FUBeAR will be at FU for the FFPA / Vince Perone Golf Classic & Social this weekend. Otherwise he very well mighta checked out the new downtown Hotel 45 in Macon (a Marriott property) ( https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotels/ ... /overview/) and caught the Sat & Sun games.

Look for the Bears to sweep the ratdogs.

Ratdogs go for the sweep on Sunday winning Friday 17-7 and Saturday 5-0. WC is now 30-9. Coulda been FU. Hope ED is happy.

It is hard to believe this Wofford thread is listed under Furman Sports. It should be moved to General Lunacy.

Mercer shows attendance as being 718. I watched the last couple of innings. I think apaladin was spot on with 27 fans left at the end of the game. It was pitiful. By the way, watching that game, a couple of innings of the Clemson game and then watching a little bit of the Braves reminded me why I gave up on baseball. It moves way too slow for me. No wonder the game is losing its younger audience. Young folks today are not going to stay still for 4 hours on a beautiful Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

2997 - 3 day total attendance.

But…Mercer’s baseball stadium, like the Football stadium, has a lot of ‘observation points’ that are not in the stands. Right and Center outfield typically gets a nice crowd…tailgating, cooking out and they watch the game (or not) from there. See pics below…

SoCon tourney is less than a month away. Btw went to a Drive game this weekend. They have a clock on the pitcher like a shot clock in basketball and it realky seemed to speed the game up. I’m sure this is an experiment for the big leagues.
I noticed they still have the Furman Plaza and a couple of Furman banners in the pavillion area. Shame we have no team.
